Wigan Warriors tie down star wingman on a new three year deal.

Super League Champions Wigan Warriors have been boosted by the news that Wing man Dom Manfredi has agreed a new three year deal with the club following his successful come back from a long injury lay off at the back end of last season.

The 25 year old ended two years of injury hell in which he required two knee reconstructions to fight his way back into the Wigan side, scoring two tries in the teams Grand final win over Warrington Wolves in October, taking his tally to over 50 tries for the club since making his debut in 2013.
Speaking about the decision to stay Manfredi told the clubs website;

       “I wouldn't want to go anywhere else as I love the club, I love everything it's about,”

Another player that starred in this year’s grand final as also committed to his club for a final season, as 37 year old Ben Westwood signed a one year deal with Warrington Wolves that will see him compete in his 18th super league season with the club after signing from Wakefield Trinity back in 2002.

The former England International marked 2018 as the year he played his 500th first team game, 436 of which have been as a Warrington player, scoring 128 tries along the way. He will now join Leeds Rhino’s back rower Jamie Jones Buchanan as being the only two players still in the elite competition that has played during the last millennium.

Meanwhile Wigan’s main rivals for super league glory next season and this year’s runaway League Leaders St Helens have sent out Australian centre Ryan Morgan on a seasons loan to Super league new boys London Bronco’s.

The former Parramatta and Melbourne Storm player had scored 24 tries in his two seasons so far at Langtree park however, with the signing of Fijian captain Kevin Naiqama from NRL side West Tigers and a host of younger players coming through the ranks, Morgan’s chances of game time looked limited and the decision was made that he could look elsewhere.

He is believed to be joined by another Saint with prop forward Kyle Amour also being rumoured to be making the move south, however that is still to be confirmed as Amour was yesterday named in the St Helens squad for next season being awarded the number 16 shirt.
