Widnes Vikings boss Dennis Betts welcomes half back Danny Craven into the squad for his first appearance of the season as they look to get back to winning ways against Cheshire rivals Warrington Wolves. Also included is MacGraff Leuluai and teenager Brad Walker after the trio missed last week’s first defeat for the first defeat of the season going down 13-12 to last year’s Grand Finalists Castleford Tigers.
The recalled trio replace prop forward Wellington Albert, Centre Charly Runciman and hooker Lloyd White who all picked up various knocks during the defeat, as the Chemic’s look to make it two from two on home soil in 2018.
The Visitors, have struggled in both their opening two games, going down at home to last year’s Champions Leeds Rhino’s in the opening round before suffering a 20 -6 defeat to Huddersfield Dragons last weekend.
Despite their early season set backs, new Wolves boss Steve Price hasn’t rung the chance, instead deciding to stick with most of the players that have played so far, except with the addition on Prop Forward Dom Crosby who could make his first appearance of the season after recovering from off season surgery to his shoulder. Another addition to the 19 man squad is Utility star Harvey Livett who replaces Marquee half back Tyrone Roberts who steps out of the squad with a knee injury.
