Warrington Wolves new head coach Steve Price as name a mixture of youth and experience in his first ever squad as his team prepare for their first run out of the season against local rivals Widnes Vikings in their annual Festive Friendly.

New boys Mitch Brown and former New Zealand International Bryson Goodwin are joined by a host of last years squad including Mike Cooper, Tom Lineham, Ben Westwood and Scottish International Matty Russell. They line up with a sprinkling of the club’s junior talent with Luis Johnson, Brad Pinder, Taylor Prell and Ellis Robson all getting their chance after impressing in preseason training.

Vikings boss Dennis Betts, recently returning from his exploits with as Wayne Bennetts assistant with England in the World Cup has also incorporated a mixture of youth and experience in his 23-man squad, with first team regulars Joe Mellor, Tom Gilmore and Matt Whitley. They are joined by some of those that broke through the ranks last season including the likes of Danny Walker and the Chapelhow brothers and some of the club’s future stars with last seasons academy captain Joe Lyons and their 2017 academy players player of the year Keanan Brand having the chance to show what they are capable of at the next level.
