Wales Rugby Union have recalled premiership duo Josh Adams and Tomas Francis to their squad for the summers two test series against Argentina after the pair was withdrawn by the clubs for the tours opening 22-20 win over South Africa in Washington this weekend.
Worcester winger Josh, Exeter Prop forward Francis and Bath Lock Luke Charteris were all withdrawn from the original tour squad as they were deemed Ineligible to play in the South Africa test by the Premiership Rugby Limited which represents the English top flight clubs. The reason for their so-called ineligibility was that the game was played a week outside of World Rugby’s official Window for test match’s which opens on June 9th, despite both Adams and Charteris not being involved in a club game since early May.
However, at the time Welsh rugby insisted that they needed the whole squad from the start, so drafted in replacements prior to their departure. Since then Adams has been recalled in place of the injured Steff Evans who suffered a knee injury during the win over South Africa, while Francis gets another chance at the expense of Samson Lee who has struggled to complete a training session due to a back problem.
The new wales squad that will take on Argentina over a two test series with games played on the 9th and 16th of June.
