Arsenal kept up the pressure on the top three in dramatic style last night, coming back from 0-3 down to clinch a draw in injury time. With twenty minutes to go, Arsenal were on course for their third away defeat in a row after goals from Daniels, Wilson (pen) and Fraser as the Gunners looked frustrated at times. However, with twenty minutes left, Alexis Shanchez pulled one back with a diving header, next up it was Perez, who found the net after good work by Giroud to make it 3-2. When Bournemouth had Francis dismissed for a poor challenge on Ramsey, Arsenal saw their chance and, in injury time, up stepped Giroud with his third goal in three games as Bournemouth desperately tried to hang on. This result leaves Arsenal eight points adrift of leaders Chelsea who take on Tottenham tonight at White Hart Lane.
In one of the Premier League’s other fixtures, Stoke got back to winning ways by beating Watford 2-0 at the Bet365 Stadium. Stoke opened the scoring just before half time when Defender Ryan Shawcross, latched on to a Charlie Adams Corner and scored his first goal in over 2 years. Within minutes of the restart Peter Crouch made it two goals in two games as he took advantage of an error in the Watford defence. This result means that Stoke now move above Watford in the league into 11th place and Watford down to 14th, only seven points off the relegation zone.
Over at Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace entertained Swansea in another game that went to the final whistle. In front of new Coach Paul Clement, Swansea took the lead minutes before half-time, when a Sigurdsson free kick found Alfie Mawson’s head to open the scoring. That was it until Crystal Palace thought they had earned the draw, when Zaha hammered home an equaliser with 7 minutes to go, However, Substitute Angel Rangel in the 88th minute scored the winner after good work from Leroy Fer to give Swansea the 1-2 win.
