Titan’s half back signs for Wolves

New Warrington Wolves Coach Steve Price has made his 1st major signing since taking over at the Betfred Super League club with the acquisition of Tyrone Roberts from NRL side Gold Coast Titans.
Believed to be the clubs Marquee signing and replacing the retiring Kurt Gidley who has returned to Australia, Roberts is believed to have signed a 3-year deal at the Halliwell jones Stadium as the club look to put a poor 2017 season behind them.
After making 41 appearances for the Titans since joining them in 2016 from fellow NRL team Newcastle Knights, the 26-year-old half back, who can also play hooker as also represented NSW Country twice and the Indigenous All Stars team on three occasions between 2015-2017.
On the announcement of his signing Roberts stated to the BBC:
“I'm very excited to be joining Warrington Wolves. My family and I can't wait to get over there,” he said.
“I'm excited to rip in and compete for some trophies and meet all the passionate fans.”
While Club chief executive Karl Fitzpatrick said: “The signing of Tyrone is a massive coup for Warrington and Super League. He is a player that has a genuine X-factor that will excite the Warrington supporters.
In other Super League news, St Helens have tied down their ‘Young Player of the Year’ nominee and Welsh International Morgan Knowles on a four-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2021.
The 20-year-old made his debut for the club in 2016, but his performances over the past season as seen the youngster cement a 1st team place under new coach Justin Holbrook.
Knowles performance have also earned him a place in the Welsh Squad that has travelled down under to take part in the 2017 World Cup, where they will take on Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Ireland.
