England boss Gareth Southgate has named 3 uncapped players in his squad for the upcoming friendly internationals against Germany and Brazil.
U21’s trio of Joe Gomez who is playing regular as Liverpool’s right back this season, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tammy Abraham both of which are currently on loan from Chelsea and playing regular premier league football at Crystal palace and Swansea respectively, have all been rewarded for some exceptional performances at club level and for their country during the Summers U21’s Euro Championships.
They help to make up a total of 8 changes to the last squad that sealed qualification to next year’s World Cup finals in Russia. The other five players recalled to international duty are Leicester Striker Jamie Vardy, Tottenham’s Danny Rose, Manchester City’s Fabian Delph and Manchester United defender Phil jones are all welcomed back after missing out on pervious squads due to injury while United’s Ashley Young’s form has earned him a recall after last playing for England in September 2013!
Making way for the recalls and new faces are Liverpool’s duo Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Daniel Sturridge, defenders Chris Smalling (Man United) Michael Keane (Everton) and Aaron Cresswell (West Ham) Midfielder Jake Livermore (West Bromwich) and striker Jermain Defoe (Bournemouth).
England will take on World Champions Germany on Friday 10th Nov and 3 times World cup winners Brazil 4 days later on the 14th both games will be played at Wembley.
