Southgate willing to give youth a chance

After earning a draw against current World cup holders Germany on Friday, England will entertain another one of the World’s best as they welcome five time world cup winners Brazil to Wembley stadium tonight.

England Boss Gareth Southgate has confirmed Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Eric Dier will again Captain the side, while he may add to the five new caps he handed out on friend with U21’s trio Dominic Solanke, Lewis Cook and Angus Gunn all being drifted into the senior team, stating

“Those (three) guys have fitted in off the field which helps them to fit in on the field,” adding “They are good players so in training they look fine.”

One change Southgate did confirm was that West Hams goalkeeper Joe Hart will be recalled in place of Everton’s Jordan Pickford who was one of those making their first senior start on Friday.
However, he was less open with regards to, if the other four new caps will retain their place despite Ruben Loftus-Cheeks man of the match performance and Striker Tammy Abraham also not looking out of place during his 60-minute stint, before he was replaced my Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.

Of course, Southgate was also asked about his selection thought’s ahead of next year’s World Cup in Russia, were he replayed “I am open minded! “I have a list and if I had to pick the squad tomorrow I know who it would be but that can change in six months because of form and players emerging.

“We watch the players very closely with their clubs and have succession plans to who is second, third and fourth choice. That is constantly updated.”
