Wigan Warriors have announced the re signing of their former Centre or full back Dan Sarginson on a two-year deal from the NRL based team Gold Coast Titans. The 24-year-old former England international played 82 times for the Cherry and Whites scoring 26 tries many of which helped them to Victory in the 2016 Grand Final win.
After impressing down under during England 2015 Four Nations campaign Gold coast snapped Sarginson up on a 2 year deal, but have decided to cut their losses and release him after a injury plagued season, making just five appearances before a bad shoulder injury in May cut short his season.When asked about his decision to return to Super League and the northern hemisphere he stated
“I can't wait to get back to the club I have many fond memories with,” he said.
“Although it didn't work out the way I would have liked due to injuries, I'm glad to have had the experience of playing the in NRL.
“I'm really looking forward to getting back amongst it with the boys and to the new season ahead.”
Wigan head coach is delighted to get a player as talented as Sarginson back at the club saying
“Dan joined us as a youngster in 2014 who was relatively new to the game and left us as a Grand Final winner and an England international”
Now he has recovered and is fully fit, Sarginson is looking to return to England as quick a possibly to get back Pre Season in readiness to help Wigan regard their Super league title at the first shot.
