Wigan Warriors will be without three of their stars as they look to open their 2018 super league account with a win at Salford Red Devils tonight. England and Wigan skipper Sean O’Loughlin misses out with a calf injury, while England team mate John Bateman has a hand injury. They are joined on the side lines by former England winger Joe Burgess, which means their could be a super league debut for Gabe Hamlin who joined the Cherry and Whites from South Sydney during the off season.
Also returning to the squad is French international Morgan Escare who was in the form of his life before suffering a season ending injury only a third of the way through last season. While former England centre Dan Sarginson will be making his second debut for the club following his return from a stint in the NRL with Gold Coast Titans.
The Home side have former West Tigers half back Jack Littlejohn making his super league debut for the club, he replaces Michael Dobson who returned to Australia at the end of last season. He is joined another former NRL player and Super league winner Luke Burgess who makes his second debut for the club after an injury ravished season at Catalan Dragons in 2017.
