The transfer grapevine continues to twitch repeatedly with rumours and apparent sightings of various players around Europe however, no club is as involved as Manchester United as they continued to be linked with just about everybody as they look to save what as been yet another poor season by their standards.
With the continued uncertainty regarding the future of French International Paul Pogba, the latest player to be linked with a move to Old Trafford is Sporting Lisbon’s Portuguese international midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
A suspected target of the Red Devils during the summer, it is believed both head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his assistant Mike Phelan flew to Portugal early last week to watch the 25 year old play against FC Porto, but missed his two goal performance against Setubal at the weekend.
Despite the clubs failure to openly discuss any transfer target, insisting they are only interested in long term targets it is believed that the clubs have opened discussions over the £60m rated player.
With Pogba and Scott McTominay both out injured rumour has it that the club have prioritised the midfield as an area they need to strengthen as they look to challenge for a top four Premier League finish and with it a return to Champions League football. Despite what has been a desperately poor season for the men from Old Trafford they are still currently sitting in fifth place, only five points adrift of fourth placed Chelsea.
While their maybe some progress with Fernandes one midfielder that doesn’t look like he’s heading to Old Trafford is Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen. The Danish midfielder has been on the outside since the arrival of Jose Mourinho and is available on a free from the summer. Apparently a target of the Red Devils it has been reported that he as agreed term to move to Italy and Join Serie A leaders Inter Milan.
