Man United vs Southampton team news

Manchester United take on Southampton tonight at St Mary’s Stadium, but with no chance of finishing in the top four, United Boss Jose Mourinho will be looking to rest some of his squad over the final two games as they prepare for their Europa League Cup final at the end of the month.

Mourinho has confirmed Daley Blind will sit the match out, as will Paul Pogba who has been granted compassionate leave in the wake of his father’s death. Their will however be a return for Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini who has completed his ban for being dismissed in the recent Manchester Derby game.

However, club captain Wayne Rooney will play as he looks to continue his personal good form, which has seen him net 3 goals in his last 4 games which is a fry cry hope his previous 3 goals which took 27 top flight games to muster.

For the home team, they also have nothing to play for and coach Claude Puel, could also look at making several changes, with Charlie Austin possibly making his return from injury with his first start of 2017.

Both teams will play their final league games of the season on Sunday, when the Red Devils welcome Crystal Palace to Old Trafford and Southampton will also be at home to Stoke City.
