This weekend see’s thousands of rugby league fans descending on St James Park in Newcastle for the Bet Fred Super League Magic Weekend, were all the fixtures from this weekend’s round are played back to back over Saturday and Sunday.

Widnes Boss Dennis Betts has thrown new recruit Rangi Chase straight into his squad, after the former England International was found surplus to requirements at Castleford and joined the Vikings on loan from Castleford for the reminder of the season. With both 1st choice halfbacks Tom Gilmore and Joe Mellor injured, Chase will likely partner youngster Jordan Johnstone or Aaron Heremaia in the half backs. Widnes’s other two Loane recruits Jack Johnson and Sam Wilde, who both joined from Warrington midweek are also included in squad as Widnes look to kick start their season and move away from the bottom.
