Hull FC start their super league campaign with the visit of Huddersfield to the KCOM Stadium tonight (thurs), with head coach Lee Radford naming a strong 19 man squad as they look to improve on last years Challenge cup victory in 2018.
New captain Danny Houghton will lead his side out for the first time since being given the armband following the retirement of Gareth Ellis, while new recruits Winger Bureta Faramino and Prop forward Mickey Paea have both been named with ex New Zealand Warriors winger Faraimo likely to replace the departed dream team winger Mahe Fonua who has returned to the NRL with West Tigers. While Prop Forward Paea will be making his 2nd debut after returning to the club from NRL side Newcastle Knights.
Huddersfield only have one new face in their squad with Prop Forward Adam Walne likely to make his debut following his winter move from Salford Red Devils. However, there is also good news for the Giants fans as Full back Jake Memo has been named having missed the majority of last season through Injury and will be hoping to quickly return to the form he showed in his few appearances last season.
World player of the year nominee Jermaine McGillvary will also take his place on the week, in his first game since the World Cup final defeat for England in Australia.
