Huddersfield Giants look to topple Saints dominence

Hot of the back of their sensational Challenge cup semi final defeat at the hands of Catalan Dragons, League Leaders St Helens now face possible the countries form team as they Welcome Huddersfield Giants to the Totally Wicked Stadium for the first game of the Super 8’s.

Justin Holbrook’s men recorded their first defeat in 14 games last week, since suffering defeat at the hands of Wakefield Trinity back in April. With that in mind the Australian has kept faith with the 19 on duty last week with youngster Matty Castello keeping his place in the squad.

Their opponents have had a new lease of life since the arrival of new Coach Simon Woolford midway through the opening 23 games. Their form has seen them move up from the bottom of the league to finish 5th as they enter the Super 8’s with wins over most of the top 8 sides in recent weeks.

Woolford has had to make a few changes to his side that saw off Wakefield 40 -28 in the last run out with Aaron Murphy, Michael Lawrence and Jake Wardle dropping out.

Replacing them is former Paramatta Eels and New Zealand Warriors prop forward Suaia Matagi who will make his debut for the club, experienced full back Jake Mamo and hooker Kruise Leeming who all add their own strengths to this Giants side.
