Burgess back to boost England

The main inclusion is the return of England’s poster boy Sam Burgess who has sat out the last two games after being forced off the pitch with a knee injury during the opening game against holders Australia, what makes it even more impressive is that he returns a week earlier than expected having pencilled in the semi final’s for his comeback match.

In the absence of Jonny Lomax, Gareth Widdop as kept the full back position after his man of the match performance against France, while Kevin Brown has earned his change to partner Luke Gale in the halves. England’s top try scorer Jermaine McGillvary will again partner make shift centre John Bateman on the right side while Leeds duo of Ryan Hall and Kallum Watkins have been recalled into the starting Wing and centre positions respectively.

In the pack Josh Hodgeson returns to the starting hooker role with James Graham and Chris Hill at prop, Burgess will pack down in the second row with Elliot Whitehead and Captain Sean O’Loughlin at Loose forward.
On the bench Alex Walmsley and Tom Burgess retain their places with Ben Currie and James Roby dropping down from the starting line up to join them.

For PNG, Castleford Tigers bound winger Gary Lo is rated as 50/50 due to an ankle injury, while Ase Boas returns to their starting line up in place of teenage Stand off Lachlan Lam who scored 2 tries on debut in their defeat of the USA at the weekend.
