Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has confirmed that Star striker Antoine Griezmann would be allowed to leave the Spanish side should he decides his future lays elsewhere. The 26 year old French International was the target of a host of Europe’s big clubs during the summer, continually being linked with a big money move to Old Trafford.
Even though he is expected to stay at Atletico until the summer, the coach’s comments have opened the door for Griezmann to fulfill his potential as it is known Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is a fan while big Spenders PSG have made it clear they would bring him to Paris without question and the La Liga big two off Barcelona and Real Madrid would love to have a player of his quality playing for them rather than against them.
After a poor start to the season by the French mans own standards, he has recently started to find the form that made him such a wanted man with 4 goals in his last 4 games, compared to only 3 in his first 14 games. The club’s recent decision to play him alongside another striker, instead of as a lone front man as reaped the rewards, which should only get better with the return of Diego Costa from Chelsea during the January transfer window.
With the return of Diego Costa and the comments this week regarding the future of Griezmann it is obvious that the club are preparing for life without the talented French man, although it is not believed it will be during his Transfer window, mainly due to the fact he would be cup tied in Europe, but undoubtable he will be playing for another club next season.
